Today’s Herman T-Zer: Texas BBQ Chili

Texas BBQ Chili:

Ingredients:
1 pound stew chuck sirloin
1 pound cubed pork loin
1 yellow onion
1 green pepper
1 tablespoon chili flakes
2 -8 oz cans chopped or diced tomato
3 cloves garlic chopped
? cup extra virgin olive oil
1 teaspoon cumin
2 -8 oz cans kidney beans
2 batches Herman T?s BBQ sauce
? cup kosher salt
1/8 cup black pepper

How you do it:
In a medium to large pot, brown your meats in olive oil until you get a nice brown color on all sides.

Remove meat from pan and set aside. To the pan add your garlic, onions, and peppers and simmer until the vegetables become clear.

Place the meats back into pan and stir together. Then add your tomatoes, chili flakes and cumin. Mix all together and let simmer for 30 minutes.

Season your pot with your salt and pepper, and then add your beans. (Make sure you drain the beans in colander) Simmer for another 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, add your Herman T?s BBQ sauce to your pan. Mix all together. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 1 hour. Make sure you stir every 15 minutes to make sure that all of the chili is coming together.

Serve with some cornbread and a nice green salad.
