Who’s Herman T?

Herman T Jones (1906 – 1983)

Raised in Kansas City, Kansas, Mr. Jones was a prominent administrator of education. After graduating from Sumner High School in 1925, he continued to pursue an interest in biology at the University of Kansas where he earned his undergraduate degree in 1931. Two years later, he completed his master’s degree at the University of Kansas and was awarded membership in the Kansas Academy of Science.

It was his love for science that always had Herman T experimenting and creating recipes. Some time in the 1950′s Herman T used his creative science mind and developed a very unique BBQ Sauce that he believed would be the perfect compliment to any beef, fish, chicken or sausage. He believed that the perfect sauce should be able to stand by itself and should always be an addition to any meal.

In 1983 while his third Grandson Brian Lewis was finishing up his culinary degree in Baltimore Maryland, Herman T unfortunately passed on. Many years later Chef Brian went on a search to find the original Herman T BBQ recipe with the idea of spreading the flavor throughout the World.

In 2002, the BBQ Sauce was recreated for mass production, without compromising one inch on any ingredient. The sauce was such a hit that Chef Brian decided to develop a mix so the World could make the sauce fresh themselves in a matter of minutes. I am sure that Herman T Jones would be very proud of this amazing BBQ sauce Mix.
